Hello
My name is Rachel Elizabeth Otterson, I am a twenty-something, Northern creative artist and teacher living in South London. I love making people smile and laugh, and comedy, improve and devising are all tools I love to play with. I am passionate about gaining an understanding of life and what it means to be human through creative, political, and anthropological practices. That means the themes of my work and the jobs I take are often about challenging social norms and values or supporting working-class communities to rise practically this can look like anything from Acting and writing stories of difference to Applied Theatre and Teaching in State Schools. I am currently a member of the Kingdom School of Arts where I study Acting, which was my first creative love and a practice I have engaged with since the age of 11 years- old when I played a reporter in Bugsy Malone who got pied haha! Maybe this wasn't the first role but I remember that... current projects Include: I am one of the Poetic Unity's Spoken Word Theatre Company Performers selected for 23/24 and my play 'Imagine a World where It Didn't Happen...' has just been selected for ACTII Festival this April. Goals and dreams to do more acting, writing and storytelling!
