BOA SWINDLER

Boa Swindler is a London based artist, curator and feminist about town.

Under her birth name, Debra Wilson, she was co- founder, director and curator at WW Gallery in Hackney and Hatton Garden London from 2008-2015, At WW she also co-founded The Solo Award art prize,

Of the countless exhibitions curated at WW, many were off site, including collateral events at the 53rd and 54th Venice Biennale and in the projects space at the London Art Fair.

Post WW Swindler used her experience as gallerist to run artists surgeries in London and nationwide, helping artists, in particular women, to develop their professional practice.

Boa Swindler (anagram of Debra Wilson) the artist, works in print and mixed media that initiates from issues surrounding the language (verbal and visual) of power, persuasion and everyday sexism. Her work is informed by the techniques of the Dadaists and frequently employs visual puns. She has exhibited nationally and internationally over the last 30 years and her work is held in private collections in the USA, UK, Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Austria, France, The V&A Museum collection and The Factory Art Collection.
