About the event
THE REVOLUTION IS HERE!
A collaborative exhibiton with Nasty Women Alkmaar and Nasty Women Lonon.
Margaret Atwood’s futuristic and spookily predictive novel, The Handmaids Tale, follows Offred, a handmaid in the totalitarian Republic of Gilead, as she navigates a world where women are stripped of their freedoms and used for reproduction. It examines the impact of religious extremism and authoritarian rule. Oppression, resistance and the fight for identity and individuality in a dystopian society are also explored. The re-election of Donald Trump has immense implications for the future of Democratic norms, institutions and processes. The suppression of womens reproductive freedoms, the removal of DEI, illegal deportations and the erosion of fundamental human rights is now alive and well in the land of the free. In the name of evangelical christians, the Trump regime is coming for you America.
Sadly this is not fiction.
He calls us nasty. We call him…
