BRITNEY FRASER

I am a textile artist from northeast England. My biggest inspiration is my family’s mining heritage and the representation of working communities. I use a lot of local dialect in my work to represent the community.

I create rag rugs (also known as Proggy mats) through using materials associated with work and manual labour. The works themself are very tactile through the use of familiar, everyday materials.
