SHIMA STAR

Seattle-based Visual Artist Shima Star, her works focus on vibrant chromatic color schemes and abstract figuration. Growing up in the 1970’s South London, Shima experienced a formative period during the height of multicultural revolution that extended until the early 90’s. As a first generation South Asian Indian woman, she is the first to have studied at University of Arts in London. She rebelled against the restrictions of her culture and societal expectations. Shima has received accolades such as 4Culture Award. Two solo exhibitions in Seattle. Public art collaboration in Bellevue, WA. Her works have been featured at Rutgers University of Arts. Her works have been collected by public institutions.
