Suzie Silk is a lens based artist who explores themes around identity. Silk is inspired by her own experiences as a woman and from broader observations about society and culture.


BIRD is part of a larger series of self portraits titled 'Animal' that responds to derogatory language used about women. It creates satirical characters and narratives that reclaim the words. It explores how we use words and the power they can have and how language can be used as a form of control.
