CHERYL MCLENNAN

Originating from Manchester, now a north London poet performer and occasional stand up sitting down comedian. Cheryl began gracing the stages of London as a poet over 10 years ago, she popped her poetry cherry at the Bang Said the Gun ‘The World Famous Tequila Shot Open Mic Spot” in in January 2009. Cheryl McLennan is an independant performer as well as being part of the Queen’s Wood Writers and Rrants (collective).

When not entertaining audiences or (of) handsome young men, Cheryl will be busy writing dramatic stories, plays and radio plays. Cheryl is published, with her current work, in process.



Her dark musings in poetry come from an inspired history drawn from her eclectic 20 year experience working on the front lines supporting the vulnerable and marginalised via CRISIS as well as aiding to support and house women who have recently been released from prison.

Cheryl McLennan often surprises her audiences; for she is so much more than what society sees her to be.,

Cheryl’s poetry and comedy focuses on the dark and beautiful details of life, love and death, those stories which are in front of us, that often are invisible because we are unwilling to see the pain of existence.
